Without further to do, let us dive into three badminton exercises you can do at home to keep your game on point - and have some fun.
Drill #1: The Coffee Cup Challenge
This one is quite simple but really entertaining. For this drill you will need your racket, 1 shuttle and 1 coffee cup.
Here's how it's done:
Find a spacious room. Place a coffee cup on the floor or on a table. Take 3-4 steps back, and grab your racket and the shuttle.
The drill has one goal: hit the shuttle in the cup.

Drill #2: Wallwork
This one is also quite simple. You will need your racket, 1 shuttle and 1 robust wall (if you don't want to destroy the walls in your house 😉)
Wallwork works like this:
Place yourself about 2 meters away from the wall. Hit the shuttle into the wall. If you hit it hard enough, it will bounce back - I promise 🏸
Now keep playing. The wall will always return the ball (of course it will, it's a wall), so the aim here is to get as many shots in a row as possible. Badminton coach Philip Adams does it pretty well here. Take a look to see how it's done.
The most important tip for this drill is, to find a wall that can take it! Enjoy.
Drill #3: The Serve Challenge
The last drill we'll show you is all about training your serve. It's a bit more complicated than the other ones, so here's a video to show you how it's done.
For The Serve Challenge, you will need your racket, 12 shuttles, tape, your phone and a (normal) wall.
Measure 152cm from the floor up. Put a strip of tape, horizontally, on the wall. Measure 12cm up from that strip of tape (164cm from the floor), and place another strip of tape there. That's the net!
Now, step back 2 meters. Grab your racket, line the 12 shuttles up and grab your phone.
The goal of this drill is, to hit the 12 shuttles inside the "net" as fast as you can. If you miss the net, serve the shuttle again.
